Here are a few simple and practical tips to keep dengue at bay this season:

 
As the man-made water reservoirs, empty pails, planters & buckets hold stagnant water; these containers should either be emptied or covered properly to avoid breeding of the mosquitoes.
Apply mosquito repellents on all exposed areas, during the day as well as at night on a daily basis to prevent dengue.
Make sure your window and door screens do not have any holes. If so, block those areas properly to prevent mosquitoes.
Infants and children below 8 years must sleep under a mosquito net as they are most susceptible to a mosquito bite during the day.
Always cover dustbin when not in use
A natural method to keep mosquitoes at bay is to plant Tulsi near your window. The plant has properties that do not allow mosquitoes to breed. Moreover, light camphor for about fifteen to twenty minutes at home for a mosquito free environment
