DLF EMPORIO SAFETY SPECIAL

Monsoon is one of the most exciting seasons of the year and here are few tips you can use to enjoy this season

It is the time when we have to be most careful about health problems like gastroenteritis, food poisoning and other water borne diseases. Hence, be cautious of the source of water while eating out and its best to eat properly cooked or stick to home cooked meals.
While driving during the monsoons always use your car’s headlights and taillights. This not only gives a clear view of the road ahead but also makes your car visible to other drivers following your car.
Wet streets are extremely slick and slippery, making it more difficult to drive.  Therefore, avoid jerky movements when braking, accelerating or turning to prevent your vehicle from skidding.
Prevent stagnation of water near your house and outdoor areas. All sources of water should be covered and cleaned to avert breeding of insects and prevent mosquito borne diseases.
If you decide you cannot drive safely in a severe rain storm, move completely off the roadway and turn your lights OFF. In poor visibility, other drivers will follow tail lights or brake lights instead of staying on the road.
Carry out thorough pre-monsoon checks for water leakages due to faulty plumbing, ill fitted electrical switches and clogged drains to avoid mishaps.
Always keep an umbrella handy when you are leaving home. Ensure that no spokes have come loose or your umbrella could go tumbling away in the wind.
Tuck away your expensive leather bags and shoes as monsoon is not a good time to flaunt these products. Carry waterproof bags and shoes to protect your precious leather goodies from getting damaged.
